Midnight

Beneath a mirror of stars
I steep in silence
And gaze into the eyes of heaven
Seeking the face of night

The darkness paints my skin
And sets the stars to glimmer
Chained to the evening comet
I streak across the sky

Midnight, be my love
And find me in our garden
Where we’ll guard the slumbering flowers
Until the morning comes
